Sustainable Sewing

Our signature repurposed denim fabric is all made at our studio on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and it's a labour of love. We gather old, dated and second-hand jeans and unpick the seams by hand, individually cut and piece together the panels of fabric to create a unique roll of repurposed denim full of character.

We love working with denim!
It's both functional and durable. And there are a lot of second-hand jeans looking for a new repurposed life in fashion! Most of us have lived in jeans since we were young. From the tomboy styling of the 90's, styles like the bootcut, flares, low waistbands, skinny jeans, the boyfriend jeans and mum jeans - we love them all. Denim is the perfect fabric to repurpose and provide a sustainable approach to sewing.

Denim has a natural fibre content of either 100% cotton, sometimes with a small percentage of elastane - if they have a bit of stretch. We gravitate towards the 100% cotton non-stretch kind as they last longer but use what we can find - all denim is a joy to sew with.

Help us make the world a better place by committing to sustainable fashion in your own life.
